About the researcher
Welcome to my independent research portfolio. I examine the environmental, economic, and infrastructure footprints that modern artificial intelligence data centers leave on regional communities.

Bridging industry and environmental awareness
As an equipment operator at Thermo Fisher Scientific, I see firsthand the scale and precision demanded by advanced technical operations. While my daily focus is within manufacturing, our workplace culture prioritizes keeping teams informed about global sustainability challenges. This workplace perspective sparked my deep interest in the unseen physical footprint of the digital world—specifically the rapid expansion of AI data centers and their direct strain on local power grids, water reserves, and neighborhood infrastructure.

Understanding local community impacts
The rapid rise of artificial intelligence depends on massive computing facilities that consume enormous amounts of energy and water. When these facilities are integrated into local towns and regions, they fundamentally alter surrounding ecosystems and economies. Through detailed analysis, I evaluate how municipal infrastructure adapts, the economic shifts experienced by residents, and the real environmental trade-offs involved.

Driving realistic, balanced solutions
My ultimate goal is to provide reliable, valid, and relevant information that empowers policymakers, engineers, and community advocates to collaborate effectively. By shedding light on objective data rather than speculation, this project helps stakeholders develop realistic solutions that balance technological progress with long-term ecological and community well-being.
